Chow Down Midtown [Marco's Restaurant and Lounge]

Tonight Bestie KP and I celebrated her big accomplishments in her surgery recovery and enjoyed a yummy dinner at Marco's Restaurant and Lounge, which was participating in Chow Down Midtown.  Many different local restaurants participate in the couple week event in which restaurants offer a price fixed menu for three courses.  It is a great opportunity to visit try new places, but also visit some old favorites.  Marco's definitely fits into the latter.  I have been going there with my family since I was young, and it never disappoints.

It was a spectacularly lovely evening and we had a corner table on the patio, which is beautifully landscaped....

....and started the evening with a couple adult beverages, while we decided on our choices for the options within the Chow Down Midtown menu.

We chose the fried mozzarella for the first course, which was very yummy.  The other two options were stuffed mushrooms and calamari, both of which looked delicious at the other tables, too!

For the next course we each had a salad (one Caesar, one house).  For the main course I chose the chicken picatta, which was served over pasta.  (A special treat for me since I love lemon and capers, but Hubby really doesn't care for either.)  It was perfect.  Bestie KP chose the filet which was served with a baked potato.  The other options for this course were parmesan crusted grouper over rice (the gentleman and the next table ordered this and it looked fabulous!), and parmesan pork medallions.  Unfortunately, we were so wrapped up in our conversation, I completely forgot to take photos.  Sorry!!!

As a sweet finish to the meal we had the cannoli. Yum!

Hubby and I are planning on heading back to the restaurant soon for their Tuesday night filet special.  But until then, you still have one more night for the Chow Down Midtown Special.  Might be a fun Father's Day Treat!

Happy Chow Down Midtown!
