Five on Friday [Food, Monograms, Food, Food, and More Food]

It's been another short week at school this week, and let me tell you....I could get used to this :).  I've loved having Bestie MHDRL home and just can't get enough baby snuggles.  He is the sweetest thing!!  Looking forward to getting some more time in this weekend.  With that, here's my Five on Friday for this week.

ONE
We started the week off on Sunday with friends, football, and the most delicious buffalo shrimp burgers.  They were absolutely divine.  I will definitely be trying to reproduce these at our hive soon!  My contribution to the meal was spinach dip.  I took the easy way out and used the Knorr mix (a first for me) and was so happy with how it turned out.  Unfortunately our Colts didn't pull out the W, but I'm sure by now you've heard all the drama surrounding the game.  I'm not saying we would have won, but I will say: once a cheater, always a cheater....

Although pictured here with crackers,
the dip was actually served with Hawaiian bread.

TWO
I just may have given a little squeal of delight when this monogram sale came across my Instagram feed.  A two inch vinyl monogram for $1.  That's right, $1.  The wheels immediately began turning thinking of all the things I'd love to monogram.  Today is the last day, so head on over and place your order!

THREE
Lunch was easy this week.  I made a huge pot of chicken tortellini soup, packaged into jars, and was all set for the week.  I'm planning on doing chicken enchilada soup next week -- and that's even easier as it's made in the slow cooker.  As an added bonus, the jars went directly into the microwave to reheat.  Easy peasy.

FOUR
Typically I make the aforementioned soup with leftovers from sticky chicken.  This week, though, I just made them each separately. (What can I say, chicken was on super special at the store...)  This chicken is so tasty.  It's incredibly yummy...and reminds me of college, which always makes me smile, but also often makes me feel old.  Ha, ha.

FIVE
Finally, one more recipe for me to share with you....pepperoncini beef.  This would actually be perfect for a Super Bowl dinner....chuck roast, pepperoncini, slider buns....screams football.  I'm also thrilled it's another Hubby approved crock pot recipe.

Now, hop on over and check out all the lovely ladies
 (Darci, Christina, Natasha, and April)
in all their Five on Friday fabulousness.

Happy Friday!

  1. I love spinach dip! I've never tried the Knorr mix, but it sounds like it's actually pretty good, so I'll have to try it next time! Oh, and great deal on those monograms! Thanks for sharing!
