Five on Friday [1.20.17]

Happy Friday!! Let's just get straight down to this week's five:

I have a big birthday coming up and it's inspired me to start a new night cream.  I love every Korres product I've purchased (the guava body butter is my very favorite) and am anxious to see some results with the wild rose.  I'd love to hear about any and all products you just can't live without!!

Santa brought an Instant Pot and it's been getting quite the work out.  We love it, especially this barbacoa beef which we turned into our own version of Chipotle's burrito bowl.

One of my 3rd graders shared the most darling free write about his future wife this week.  She will be gorgeous and will not like sushi or Brussels sprouts.  It's the important things in life.  So very cute.

I've been reminded how I've become technology dependent.  The other day I pulled up Pinterest to look for a recipe and found this:

Thank goodness it's working again, but I was sweating it out for a bit.  We did have something different for dinner though. Ha.

Hubby grew frustrated with Comcast last week and ended up cutting our cable on a whim.  While we've discussed potentially doing this, and had actually purchased a Roku, we didn't have anything in place yet.  (Hubby and I tend to approach things rather differently...I'm a planner and he's by the seat of his pants.  Any brilliant suggestions??  We do have Amazon Prime.  Any other tips?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Wishing y'all a wonderful weekend!
Today I'm linking up with:

Happy Friday!

  1. Laughing at that future wife write!!! Love! My mom does Roku/Netflix/Sling/Amazon and loves it! I use L'Oreal anti aging and love it (cheap!)

    1. Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check it out!! Thank you for stopping by!

  2. Happy Friday, Melissa! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. It was great to hear from you! I got an Instant Pot for Christmas too, but haven't used it much yet. I can't wait to check out the recipe you linked! Thanks for sharing! We have a roku and love Sling, Amazon Prime, Netflix, & Hulu! Have a great weekend :)

  3. Love the future wife write, from the hearts of babes, so sweet! Now, I want an Instant Pot, that beef looks amazing! Have the best weekend pretty lady!

  4. Oh my goodness...I'd be in full on panic mode if I pulled up my Pinterest and it looked like that too. I have actually printed several of the recipes that I love the most just because every so often I get notice that for one reason or another they've deleted a pin. I'd also have a panic attack if our cable was cancelled. We have Netflix because we have 2 kids in college and they both use it. I'm intrigued by the Instant Pot. I've read another blogger who loves hers as well. Have a wonderful weekend Melissa!!!

  5. Melissa - that Barbacoa Beef recipe looks delicious!! I can't wait to try it out! Have a great weekend!

  6. the instant pot! i just heard about this maybe a week ago and it sounds so interesting...does it cook super fast?

  7. Happy soon to be birthday! Mine is in February :) That happened to my pinterest the other day...I have 18,000 followers, but it said zero! And all my boards were gone too. It went back to normal a few days later, but it was scary!! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

  8. What is an Insta Pot?! I need one for sure. We like Netflix better than Amazon Prime when it comes to tv. Hopefully, you get it figured out! Cable companies are the worst. Hope you've had a great weekend!

  9. What great characteristics to look for in a future wife! I can agree on both counts :)

Thanks for stopping by Colletta's Kitchen Sink!

  10. I came SO close to canceling our DirecTV a few months ago. I was getting sick of paying so much every month, so I called to cancel. They ended up offering me a huge discount and suckered me into another year. Maybe next year I'll actually go through with it! Hope you had a great weekend!

  11. Oh my goodness, that would give me a panic attack too if I pulled my Pinterest page and it was blank! I've actually started writing down my go to recipes because one of the blogs I used to go to for our favorite dish lost their domain name and didn't get it back for weeks.

As for suggestions, we love our Apple TV! I'm technologically deficient and even I can navigate that one.

Thanks so much for buzzing by! I look forward to hearing from you!
